Portable Pump Skids
Portable pump skids can be manufactured in a number of different materials, dependent on the application the skid will operate in, it is important that industrial pump skids are designed and engineered for the purpose they are to be used for.
Special attention should be taken of the torque and forces of the pump when it starts. Skid mounted pump systems are often specified due to their ease of installation, portability and ease of transport to site. Water pump skids and skid mounted pump sets come in a variety of sizes, from large skid mounted centrifugal pump systems to long progressive cavity pump skids, each skid mounted pump system should be designed for ease of maintenance, pumping efficiency & longevity.
Pump support bases are typically manufactured with stainless steel, or are built in mild steel & finished in a blast & paint spec or a hot dip galvanised finish. Special care should be taken in design of any industrial pump skid or industrial pump support base that the pump & motor align perfectly to ensure no additional forces are applied to pump or motor. Stainless steel pump skids & Hot Dip Galvanised pump skids often have machined pads for pump and motor to attach to, this ensures perfect fit up and a long build life of the complete skid mounted pump system.
